31 March 2011: The Council of the EU has adopted the first CO2 emission standards for small vans in the EU, introducing a limit of 175g CO2/km for the average CO2 emissions from light commercial vehicles registered in the EU.
25 March 2011: The World Bank organized its 2011 Agriculture and Rural Development Days (ARD) under the theme "Understanding Volatility and Managing Risk."
This meeting will be jointly organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of Turkey.
2 April 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a document with supplementary provisional agenda items (FCCC/AWGLCA/2011/Add.3 and Add. 4) for the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA) at its 14th session.
30 March 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published seven submissions from parties (FCCC/AWGLCA/2011/MISC.6) on views on the issues relating to the a work programme for the development of modalities and guidelines listed in decisions 1/CP.16, paragraph 46, including with respect to the initial scheduling of the processes described in chapter III.A (Enhanced action on mitigation. Nationally appropriate mitigation commitments or actions (NAMAs) by developed country Parties) of the decision.
29 March 2011: The European Commission has issued rules on the transitional free allocation of allowances to the power sector, in preparation for the third phase of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) (2013-20), when the power sector will have to buy its allowances. In addition, it adopted a comprehensive strategy for a competitive transport system.
28 March 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report (FCCC/ARR/2010/CZE) of the individual review of the annual submission of the Czech Republic for 2010.
23 March 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has announced that, as part of its collaboration with the 2014 Winter Olympic Games Sochi organizing committee, it has submitted to the Organizing Committee environmental action plans that cover key areas including Zero Waste and Climate Neutrality.
25 March 2011: The UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is working on ways to develop its strategic partnership with the EU, particularly on the issues of inclusive growth and sustainable development.
24 March 2011: The European Commission has launched a public consultation to explore options for future EU action on maritime spatial planning and integrated coastal zone management.
