Nordic and Baltic Wetlands Conference Identifies Climate Change Impacts on Wetlands [viewed]

Ramsar12 September 2013: The Nordic and Baltic Wetlands Conference was organized around the theme 'Baltic Wetlands in a time of climate change- mitigation, resilience and adaptation.' The event was held as part of the Greenland Chairmanship (2012-2014) of the NorBalWet, a regional initiative for the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar Convention) that aims to contribute to more effective conservation and wise use of wetlands and enhanced international wetlands cooperation in the Nordic-Baltic region.

Event: G20 Leaders' Summit 2014 [viewed]

The Group of Twenty (G20) is a forum that assembles 19 members plus the EU, representing the world's major economies. General themes include global economy, financial regulation, poverty reduction and sustainable development. The next G20 Summit will take place in Australia, which will work as a troika in defining the next work programme in cooperation with the past (Russian Federation) and future (Turkey) hosts. CCAC Commits to Scaling Up Action on Short-Lived Climate Pollutants [viewed]

CCAC3 September 2013: Members of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (CCAC) met for the third meeting of the High Level Assembly, adopting a Communiqué reiterating their commitment to address near-term climate change, improve air quality and public health, and strengthen food and energy security, by taking urgent action to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) like black carbon, methane, tropospheric ozone, and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
