UNECE Convenes Europe-Asia Transboundary Water Cooperation Conference [viewed]

UNECE19 December 2011: The UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) organized the International Conference on “Europe-Asia transboundary water cooperation” to promote dialogue and cooperation on the management and protection of transboundary waters among Afghanistan, China, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

UN/ISDR Calls for Increased Education on Disasters and Climate Change [viewed]

Japan Increases Contributions for Small-Island States Clean Energy Partnership [viewed]

8 December 2011: The Government of Japan announced a new US$15 million grant to support clean energy efforts and access to renewable energy by climate vulnerable island nations through the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Sustainable Energy Initiative (SIDS DOCK). The initiative provides financial and technical support to island countries to scale up their renewable energy efforts and promote greater energy efficiency.
