CIAT Warns of Climate Change Impact on Cocoa Production [viewed]

29 September 2011: The International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) has released a report titled "Predicting the Impact of Climate Change on the Cocoa-Growing Regions in Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire," which predicts that a temperature rise of over 2ºC by 2050 would dramatically impact West Africa's cocoa-producing areas.

AfDB Assists African Countries with NAMAs [viewed]

28 September 2011: The African Development Bank (AfDB) has announced results from a side event and one-day training it held during the African Carbon Forum, to assist 24 regional member countries to understand and better prepare Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs). The training focused on capacity building to design and implement NAMAs to take advantage of the Green Climate Fund, when it becomes effective.

Host Country Agreement Signed for Durban Climate Change Conference [viewed]

3 October 2011: Christiana Figueres, UNFCCC Executive Secretary, and Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, South Africa's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, have signed the Host Country Agreement for the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the UNFCCC and the seventh session of the Conference of the Parties serving the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP 7), which will take place in Durban, South Africa, from 28 November to 9 December 2011.
