UNCTAD LDC Report Highlights Vulnerabilities to Climate Change Impacts [viewed]

25 November 2010: The UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) published "The Least Developed Countries Report 2010" which, among other issues, highlights the vulnerability of LDCs to climate impacts. For example, the report indicates that the LDC small island developing states (SIDS) and LDCs in Asia are particularly vulnerable to the impact of storms and are also the least able to cope with the social and economic fallout from climate-related incidents.

UNFCCC Publishes Study on the CDM's Contribution to Technology Transfer [viewed]

24 November 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a study on the contribution of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) to technology transfer to developing countries, which concludes that the CDM has been a key driver of technology transfer in developing countries.

UN-HABITAT Releases Report on African Cities and Urban Land Markets [viewed]

23 November 2010: The UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) has launched a report on "The State of African Cities 2010: Governance, Inequalities and Urban Land Markets." The report was announced in Bamako, Mali, during the third African Ministerial Conference on Housing and Urban Development (AMCHUD III).

5 November 2010: The Ministerial Committee for the Defense of Nature of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas – Treaty of Commerce of the People (ALBA-TCP) adopted a declaration opposing the concept of "green economy," in which nature is seen as "capital" for producing tradable goods and services.
