6 May 2009: The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Afforestation and Reforestation (A/R) Working Group has released the report of its 24th meeting, held from 29 April-1 May 2009 in Bonn, Germany. During the meeting, the Working Group considered, inter alia, requests for clarification of the application of approved baseline and monitoring methodologies, and draft new small-scale methodologies for A/R CDM project activities.

1 May 2009: “On the Frontlines of Climate Change,” an Internet forum launched by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in partnership with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the Secretariat of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), has issued a call for project proposals. 28 April 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the report of the individual review of the greenhouse gas inventory submissions of Poland submitted in 2007 and 2008 (FCCC/ARR/2008/POL). The expert review team (ERT) finds the inventory to be generally in line with the Revised 1996 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines, the IPCC good practice guidance and the IPCC good practice guidance for land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF).

April 2009: The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF), a research center of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), has published a working paper on challenges and perspectives for mainstreaming climate change into agricultural education. The working paper is an outcome of a symposium on climate change challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa, which sought to identify recommendations for effective policy, institutions and capacity for addressing climate change in agricultural education.
