Event: 2015 Dialogue Forums: Climate, Poverty, Catastrophes – Save the World! [viewed]

The Munich Re Foundation's 2015 Dialogue Forums, organized once a month from January through May 2015, will focus on the topics of: the role of global treaties; climate change and the Paris Climate Change Conference; preparedness for floods, droughts and storms; progress in global poverty eradication; and political and civil involvement of individuals. The events will be held in German.

Event: Eighth India Climate Policy and Business Conclave [viewed]

This annual event, organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), will center on climate policy and carbon markets, with a special focus on the role and responses of businesses, including industry initiatives and case studies on global climate policy and negotiations. FICCI is organizing the Conclave in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change of India, the World Bank, and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety of Germany, with support from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) India. The event will feature a master class on nationally appropriate mitigation actions (NAMAs), focusing on the design and framework of NAMAs.

UNGA President to Host High-Level Climate Change Event [viewed]

unga6930 December 2014: UN General Assembly (UNGA) President Sam Kutesa has announced that a high-level event on climate change will take place on 29 June 2015, to contribute to building momentum towards a 2015 agreement on climate change. Kutesa is hosting the event approximately midway between the Lima and Paris Climate Change Conferences, with the intention of complementing and advancing the UNFCCC negotiations.

Event: Global Landscapes Forum 2015 [viewed]

The third annual Global Landscapes Forum will take place on 6 December 2015, in Paris, France, conciding with the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). A successor to past Forest Days and Agriculture and Rural Development Days, the Forum focuses on land use as a key sector for achieving global climate and sustainability goals, and brings together stakeholders from different land-use sectors. In previous years, Global Landscapes Forum coordinating partners have included the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), the Consortium of International Agricultural Research Centers (CGIAR) Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).

Event: Asia Clean Energy Forum 2015 [viewed]

The Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF), organized since 2006, seeks to provide a space for sharing best practices in policy, technology and finance to support climate and energy security in the region. The event comprises pre-forum events, plenary sessions, keynote presentations, panel discussions and 'Deep Dive Workshops' on specific topics. The 2015 ACEF is being organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the World Energy Council (WEC) and the Korea Energy Management Corporation (KEMCO). Pre-forum events of the 2015 ACEF include the International Off-Grid Renewable Energy Conference and the Quantum Leap in Wind Workshop.

The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2015 will convene from 21-24 January, in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, under the theme 'The New Global Context'. The 2015 meeting will focus on the political, economic, social and technological transformations that are resulting in a new context for decision making globally. The meeting will convene global leaders from business, government, international organizations, academia and civil society.

REN21 Publishes 2014 Annual Report [viewed]

REN21November 2014: The Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21) has published its 2014 Annual Report, which describes highlights from the year and notes that a decade has passed since the meeting of the first international conference dedicated exclusively to renewable energy, whose steering committee evolved into REN21.

Event: Adaptation Futures 2016: Practices and Solutions [viewed]

This conference is expected to lead to major progress in climate change adaptation, and fosters an exchange of innovative and practical ideas, experiences and insights among governments, businesses, researchers and civil society from around the world. The conference will examine and discuss the latest adaptation research, as well as have an Adaptation Practice Expo and Business Fair, which will include stands, matchmaking facilities and signing ceremonies, and showcase cutting edge adaptation projects. The conference programme will address all sectors and geographic regions, with a special focus on urban and coastal areas.
 
Adaptation Futures 2016 is also expected to: strengthen ties between science and practice
; engage communities of practice and build new partnerships;
 and link adaptation action to current development, investment and planning decisions.
 
The programme will include plenary and parallel sessions, roundtables, excursions, exhibitions and side events. Adaptation Futures is the biennial conference of the Global Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA). The European Commission and the Government of the Netherlands will co-host the fourth edition of this conference.
