Event: UN Private Sector Forum: Access to Energy For All [viewed]

This high-level forum is being organized by the UN Global Compact, UN-Energy and other UN Agencies, funds and programmes, and will focus on the theme of Sustainable Energy for All. The forum will bring together Heads of State attending the UN General Assembly and over 300 CEOs of leading companies in the sector. Hosted by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the Private Sector Forum will feature high-level roundtable discussions among business, government, civil society and UN leaders. It is designed to maximize interaction, increase understanding of efforts underway, and generate a range of commitments to action around the Sustainable Energy for All goals.

AU, Action Aid International to Cooperate on Agricultural Growth [viewed]

CIF Projects Focus on Climate Resilience and Forests [viewed]

1 July 2011: The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) approved US$444 million in grants and near-zero-interest loans to support five nation-wide strategic programmes for climate resilience in Cambodia, Mozambique, Nepal, St. Lucia, and Zambia, as well as US$90 million in grants for sustainable forest management (SFM) and REDD+ (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, as well as conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of carbon stocks) initiatives in Burkina Faso and Congo DRC.

Event: Forests Indonesia: Alternative Futures to Meet Demands for Food, Fibre, Fuel and REDD+ [viewed]

This event will provide a platform for leaders of government, parliament, the international and national business community, civil society and the research and development sector to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by Indonesia in the sustainable use of its forests. IEA Publishes Updated Technology Roadmap on Electric and Hybrid Vehicles [viewed]
