Event: Global Landscapes Forum [viewed]

This Forum will convene on the margins of the 19th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 19) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) by the Collaborative Programme on Forests (CPF) and the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) Research Program on Climate Change Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS). The Forum will focus on four main themes: investing in sustainable landscapes and livelihoods; landscape policy and governance; synergies between adapting to, and mitigating climate change in landscapes; and landscapes for food security and nutrition. The Global Landscapes Forum will combine into one event two annual conferences on the role of forests and agriculture in mitigating and adapting to climate change: Forest Day and Agricultural and Rural Development Day.

UNFCCC TEC 6 Discusses Research, Development and Demonstration of ESTs [viewed]

UNFCCC28 June 2013: The sixth meeting of the Technology Executive Committee (TEC 6) of the UNFCCC was broadcast live via the Internet over the UNFCCC Technology Information Clearinghouse (TT:CLEAR) website, allowing for interaction with off-site stakeholders who participated via social media during a thematic dialogue on research, development and demonstration (RD&D) of environmentally sound technologies ESTs).

Event: GEF Expanded Constituency Workshop (ECW) in Zambia [viewed]

This meeting aims to promote exercises on national capacity development (NCSA), results-based management, monitoring and evaluation, as well as synergies in project design related to the biodiversity, climate, chemicals and desertification conventions. Participants will also hear updates on the GEF2020 Strategy and on the GEF-6 replenishment process. The targeted audience is GEF focal points, focal points from the main conventions, representatives from civil society and representatives from the GEF Secretariat and the GEF agencies.

Preliminary Report on UN-REDD Panama Programme Rupture Offers Recommendations [viewed]

unredd13 June 2013: The preliminary report by a team investigating the withdrawal of the National Coordinating Body of Indigenous Peoples in Panama (COONAPIP) from Panama's National REDD+ Programme has been delivered to the UN Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (UN-REDD) along with recommendations on how to proceed in Panama and how to apply lessons learned from the experience to the design and implementation of REDD+ programmes elsewhere.
