IEA Releases Review of Ireland's Energy Policies [viewed]

IEA11 July 2012: As part of its series on the energy policies of member countries, the International Energy Agency (IEA) published a 2012 review of Ireland's policies and challenges. It contains: a policy analysis, reviewing general energy policy, climate change and energy efficiency; a sector analysis, reviewing electricity, renewable energy, natural gas, coal and peat and oil; and an energy technology analysis, reviewing energy research, development and demonstration.

ECPA Takes Stock of Energy Policies in Seven Caribbean SIDS [viewed]

Montreal Protocol TEAP Releases Report on Alternatives to ODS [viewed]

May 2012: The Technology and Economic Assessment Panel (TEAP) of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer has released the second volume of its 2012 report, which consists of a task force report on Decision XXIII/9 titled “Additional Information on Alternatives to Ozone-Depleting Substances (ODS).” The report will be considered by the 32nd meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG 32) scheduled to convene in Bangkok, Thailand, from 23-27 July 2012.

FAO's World Fisheries and Aquaculture Report Calls for Adopting Ecosystem Approach [viewed]

FAO9 July 2012: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) has released the 2012 edition of its flagship publication, "The State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture." The report underscores fisheries' and aquaculture's contribution to global food security and economic growth, but warns that they are threatened by poor governance, weak fisheries management regimes, conflicts over the use of natural resources, and the persistent use of poor fishery and aquaculture practices.
