EEA Releases 2011 Update on Renewables in Europe [viewed]

EEA28 November 2011: The European Environment Agency (EEA) has reported that: offshore wind energy capacity in Europe is projected to increase 17-fold between 2010 and 2020; newer renewable technologies such as concentrated solar power and wave/tidal power are also expected to increase more than 11-fold; and European countries are expected to significantly boost solar photovoltaic power, onshore wind and other renewable technologies over the next decade.

OECD Paper Examines Lessons from Development Agencies in Monitoring and Evaluation for Adaptation [viewed]

25 November 2011: The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has published a working paper titled "Monitoring and Evaluation for Adaptation: Lessons from Development Cooperation Agencies," which argues that monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks for adaptation should combine qualitative, quantitative and binary indicators, and which calls for complementing individual project and program evaluations with overall assessments of trends in the country's vulnerability to climate change.
