February 2010: The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has released "The State of Food and Agriculture 2009: Livestock in the balance," which examines the role of livestock in: food security and poverty reduction; the environment and climate change; and human and animal health.
16 February 2010: The Joint Afro-Arab Ministerial Meeting on Agricultural Development and Food Security, held on 14-16 February 2010, in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt, agreed on an action plan to guide their collaboration in agriculture and food security, including climate change-related elements.
February 2010: The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), a member of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), has released a review of 17 studies on practices that boost small-scale farmers' resilience to climate change, highlighting the experiences of, and lessons for, African farmers.
18 February 2010: The Governing Council of the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) held its 33rd session from 17-18 February 2010, in Rome, Italy, to discuss: the Eighth Replenishment of IFAD's resources; IFAD's budget; revisions of IFAD's lending policies and criteria; progress on the performance-based allocation system; progress on the Global Mechanism of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD); and a synthesis of the global meeting of the Farmers' Forum 2010.

February 2010: The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) has released a report titled "Rethinking Poverty: Report on the World Social Situation 2010," which aims to contribute to rethinking poverty and its eradication.
At a joint meeting of the Bureau of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Chairpersons of its functional commissions, Arvid Ozols, Chair of the ninth session of the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF 9), delivered an address on recent achievements of the UNFF with regard to sustainable forest management and its contributions to gender equality and internationally agreed development goals.
8 February 2010: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has released a report titled “Social Dimensions of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD),” which reviews the state of progress in the implementation of NEPAD, as well as its social dimensions within the context of the converging global food, financial and energy crises, and climate change (E/CN.5/2010/3).
