POPs Review Committee Adopts 12 Decisions, Sets Up Working Groups for Emerging Issues [viewed]

14 October 2011: The seventh meeting of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC 7) of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) addressed a number of emerging concerns, in addition to reviewing substances nominated for listing in the Stockholm Convention's annexes, and established intersessional working groups to address the emerging issues that go beyond the Committee's usual scope.

EU Adopts Negotiating Position for Durban [viewed]

10 October 2011: The Council of environment ministers of the EU adopted conclusions establishing the EU position for the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the UNFCCC, in which they stress the need to agree on a global and comprehensive legally-binding framework as soon as possible to keep the increase of global temperature below 2°C compared to the pre-industrial level, guaranteeing legal certainty, predictability, reciprocity and comparability.
