alliance_to_save_energy13 May 2015: The 2015 Energy Efficiency Global Forum (EE Global) served as a platform for launching new tools and technologies, introducing ideas for energy efficiency governance, discussing ways to demonstrate the value of building efficiency to industry, and advocating proper valuation of energy efficiency in the marketplace. The Forum, in its eighth iteration, brought together thought leaders from private industry, the non-profit sector and government to inspire action to advance energy efficiency.

Second SE4ALL Forum to Highlight Finance, First UN Global Energy Ministerial Dialogue [viewed]

SE4ALL14 May 2015: The Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) initiative is set to convene the Second Annual SE4ALL Forum under the theme ‘Financing Sustainable Energy for All'. The Forum, to be held from 18-21 May 2015, at UN Headquarters in New York, US, will include the launch of the Global SE4ALL Commitment Platform, two-days of Multi-Stakeholder sessions and the first-ever Global Energy Ministerial Dialogue at the UN.

World Bank Outlines Steps to Global Zero Net Emissions Before 2100 [viewed]

World Bank11 May 2015: The World Bank has launched a report that outlines three steps for reaching zero net emissions globally before 2100. In order to keep global temperature rise below 2ºC degrees Celsius, the report calls on governments to: avoid locking in damaging growth patterns; create incentives for investing in low-carbon growth; and establish support mechanisms for the poor and transformation opportunities for businesses.

Event: Carbon Expo 2015: Global Carbon Market Fair and Conference [viewed]

The 12th edition of the Carbon Expo, organized by the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), the World Bank Group and the Fira de Barcelona, will feature over 220 speakers in nine plenary sessions and 27 workshops, in addition to hosting 36 side events. The event will focus on carbon pricing, investors' expectations for the anticipated 2015 global climate change agreement and the transition to a low-carbon economy. Topics to be examined at the Expo's sessions include: Landscapes as a Green Growth Component to Bridge the Global Emissions Gap; Transforming the Energy Sector - The Next Generation of Climate Technologies; EU ETS [Emissions Trading System] Turns 10: A New Beginning?; and Climate Transparency: Comparing and Tracking Progress Toward and Beyond Paris 2015. The fair, held in conjunction with the conference, will host approximately 100 exhibitors displaying new technologies, carbon abatement solutions and information on emissions trading.

The Climate Group is organizing the first Climate Week Paris, which will feature the Business and Climate Summit (20-21 May) and Climate Finance Day 2015 (22 May). Other activities during the week will include: the Green Investment Financing Forum (19-20 May); Roundtable II 'Increasing Ambition' (19 May) by the Low Carbon Technology Partnerships initiative (LCTPi); an exhibition of the solar plane SOLAR IMPULSE 1 (19 May); a Green Investment Bank Workshop (20 May); a Roundtable Discussion on Climate Risk Disclosures and the Role of Financial Regulation (21 May); and the Sustainable Innovation Forum 2015 (SIF15) Launch Event (21 May).
