8 June 2009: During the 98th session of the International Labour Conference of the International Labour Organization (ILO), taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 3-19 June 2009, the committee of the whole held a discussion on the role of green jobs in the current economic crisis as a driver for economic recovery, environmental protection and creation of decent work opportunities for all.
5 June 2009: The International Telecommunication Union's (ITU) Study Group on Environment and Climate Change held its first meeting under its new name and mandate, from 25-29 May 2009, in Geneva, Switzerland.
The first report, titled “Energía y Cambio Climático: oportunidades para una política integrada en América Latina y el Caribe” (Energy and climate change: opportunities for an integrated policy in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC)) and authored by Jean Acquatella, assesses opportunities for integrated policy approaches towards energy security and climate change mitigation in LAC countries during the 2010-2030 period.

2 June 2009: In a video message to the 19th anniversary dinner of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), which met in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 2 June 2009, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon underlined that the ICC had helped the UN launch the Global Compact 10 years ago.
28 May 2009: The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has presented a new study by Richard Baron (International Energy Agency (IEA)), Barbara Buchner (IEA) and Jane Ellis (OECD) titled “Sectoral Approaches and the Carbon Market.”
28 May 2009: The Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) jointly convene a high-level conference titled “ICTs, the Environment and Climate Change.”
27 May 2009: The UNFCCC released a document containing the “Interim report of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) on the progress made in carrying out the Poznan strategic programme on technology transfer” (FCCC/SBI/2009/3).
4 May 2009: A study group to focus on information and communication technologies (ICTs) and the environment was created during the meeting of the International Telecommunication Union's (ITU) Telecommunication Standardization Advisory Group (TSAG), which took place from 28-30 April 2009, in Geneva, Switzerland.
