The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), in collaboration with the Club of Madrid and the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, will host the 2010 Urban Roundtable for Mayors and Ministers to identify key policies for the contribution of cities to a global green growth strategy. The event will bring city majors, former heads of state and government, various ministers and business leaders together to form a common policy agenda for cities' contribution the global Green Growth Strategy the OECD is to develop under the auspices of the Declaration on Green Growth that was adopted by Ministers of Economy, Finance, Trade and Foreign Affairs of 34 countries in June 2009. Three themes will dominate the event: the importance of cities to the development of the Green Growth Strategy; the potential and reality of creating green jobs in urban areas; and national-local implementation and financing of green urban development.
