This meeting, organized by the Organization of American States (OAS) and and the UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UN/ISDR), will focus on: the acceptance and application of disaster risk reduction (DRR) in climate change adaptation; measurable increases in investments for DRR; cities, schools and hospitals resilient to disasters; a mid-term review of the Hyogo Framework for Action; and the regional message to be conveyed during the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction to be held 8-13 May 2011, in Geneva, Switzerland.
