		<description><![CDATA[Resilient Cities 2012, the third World Congress on Cities and Adaptation to Climate Change, will focus on the following themes: urban risk and the issue of urban infrastructure as a key element in building resilient cities; resilient integrated urban design - how to optimally relate the water, food security and biodiversity sectors to build a resilient city; resilient urban renewable energy - how to ensure a clear link between the local renewables agenda and energy security and safety of urban areas; resilient urban logistics - a showcase of successful examples in ecomobility (moving people) and ecologistics (moving goods); and financing the resilient city - how climate financing for adaptation can be mobilized, leveraged and innovated for the local level. Resilient Cities 2012 will also host a session on global sustainable infrastructure finance in partnership with Global Energy Basel.

		<description><![CDATA[The ninth annual “Transforming Transportation” event will take place at the World Bank in Washington, DC, US, from 26-27 January 2012, and will focus on big ideas to scale up sustainable transport best practices in cities worldwide. The plenary session on Day 1 will discuss the future of the city, and on Day 2 it will look beyond the transport sector for inspiration on how to scale up best practices. Other sessions will include moderated panel discussions and rapid presentations of innovative ideas. The agenda also features screenings of urban transport videos and a cocktail reception to honor the late Dr. Leon "Lee" Schipper. Transforming Transportation 2012 is open to the public, and is organized by EMBARQ, The World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, Institute for Transportation Development and Policy, Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities, and the Partnership for Sustainable Low Carbon Transport.]]></description>
