UNGA 66 Concludes with Decisions on Africa, Indigenous Conference, SDG Working Group [viewed]

17 September 2012: Concluding the 66th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), outgoing President Nassir Abdulaziz al-Nasser recalled the Assembly's focus on disaster prevention and response, including local resilience and risk mitigation, and on sustainable development and global prosperity. CIFOR Announces Piloting of New REDD+ Safeguards System in Indonesia [viewed]

14 September 2012: The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) has reported that the Indonesian province of East Kalimantan will start piloting a new safeguard information system (SIS) for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks in developing countries (REDD+) in December 2012.
