Event: 45th Meeting of the GEF Council [viewed]

The Global Environmental Facility (GEF) Council meets twice per year to approve new projects with global environmental benefits in the GEF's focal areas, and to provide guidance to the GEF Secretariat and Agencies. A consultation with civil society will take place on Monday, and the GEF Council meeting will open on Tuesday, 5 November.

Event: Third Meeting of the Sixth Replenishment of the GEF [viewed]

The Third Meeting of the Sixth Replenishment of the Global Environment Facility (GEF-6) is scheduled to take place in December 2013. Representatives from donor countries, non-donor recipient countries, civil society, GEF agencies, the Trustee, the Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (STAP), and the Evaluation Office are set to attend.

Event: European Forestry Commission Working Party on the Management of Mountain Watersheds [viewed]

The main topic under discussion at the 29th Session of the European Forestry Commission Working Party on the Management of Mountain Watersheds will be natural disaster risk management in mountain areas. The meeting is being jointly organized by the French Ministry of Agriculture, Agro-Alimentaire and Forest, the French National Office for Forests, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO).

Event: Expanded Constituency Workshop (ECW) Pacific Islands [viewed]

The Expanded Constituency Workshop (ECW) hosts discussions on priority issues, development and implementation of Global Environment Facility (GEF) projects, and project integration in national development frameworks. The event will bring together focal points from the GEF, UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), with representatives from civil society, the GEF Secretariat, and the GEF Agencies to discuss lessons learned and experiences regarding the implementation of multi-focal GEF projects in the region.
