Event: Agriculture and Climate Change Roundtable on Reconciling REDD+ and Agriculture [viewed]

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and EcoAgriculture Partners will be holding discussions on climate change and agriculture. The roundtable will include presentations on the Climate Change Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) report: "Lessons from REDD+ for Agriculture." CCAFS is a programme of the Consultative Group on International Agriculture Research (CGIAR).

Event: GEF STAP Meeting [viewed]

The meeting will review progress on the current STAP work plan, identify new areas for work plan inclusion, and prepare for the May 2011 GEF Council meeting. Event: 40th GEF Council Meeting [viewed]

The GEF Council functions as the main governing body of the GEF. Its 32 members meet twice a year, with each representing a group of countries (‘constituency') including both donors and recipients of GEF funding. GEF funding is channeled to several focal areas, namely: biological diversity, climate change, international waters, land degradation, ozone layer depletion and persistent organic pollutants.

CIAT Formalizes Climate Change and Biodiversity Partnership in Colombia [viewed]

December 2010: The International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) has formalized a framework agreement with the Colombian Corporation of Agricultural Research (Corpoica) and the Colombian Ministry of Agriculture to find solutions to help farmers confront climate change and assist in the development of the Colombian Orinoquia and Altillanura.
