UN-REDD, World Bank Respond to REDD+ Partnership Proposal [viewed]

12 May 2010: The UN-REDD Programme and the World Bank's Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) and Forest Investment Program (FIP) have released a joint statement in response to a draft document released by the organizers of the meeting on the interim REDD+ (reducing emission from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, conservation, sustainable forest management and enhancement of forest carbon stocks) partnership, to be held in Oslo, Norway, on 27 May 2010.

Event: Second PrepCom for UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) [viewed]

The UN General Assembly, in December 2009, adopted a resolution calling for a UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) to be convened in Brazil in 2012 (also referred to as Rio+20). The resolution established the dates for the preparatory committees leading to the event, and indicates the event should be focused on: a green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication; and the institutional framework for sustainable development.

UNEP, World Bank Produce Guidebook on Forest Carbon Projects [viewed]

The objective of the publication is to guide project developers and financial investors on developing and implementing profitable forestry projects in the carbon markets.

GEF Funds Fuel Cell Buses in Shanghai World Expo 2010 [viewed]
