24 June 2009: Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries have agreed to boost official backing for exports of renewable energy and nuclear power equipment by offering more generous terms on government-backed credits in support of export deals.
23 June 2009: Opening the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development's (OECD) Tenth Forum, which was held in Paris, France, from 23-24 June 2009, Han Seung-soo, Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea and Chair of OECD's Ministerial Council Meeting, highlighted that the Forum's theme, “The Crisis and Beyond: For a stronger, cleaner, fairer world economy,” seeks to address the unprecedented challenges of the global financial crisis and climate change.
18 June 2009: On the margins of the Second Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 16-19 June 2009, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the World Bank signed a joint statement to reinforce their collaboration to address the consequences of natural hazards and rebuild livelihoods in the aftermath of disasters.
22 June 2009: The Global Environment Facility's (GEF) Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (STAP) has submitted to the GEF Council, which is meeting from 22-24 June 2009, in Washington DC, US, a series of “Recommendations for Improved Science and Technology Guidance in the GEF.”
19 June 2009: The UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UNECLAC) and the Government of Germany concluded negotiations in Berlin, Germany, on 18 June 2009, to extend their cooperation programme until 2012, including joint work in the area of “Climate Change: old and new opportunities for sustainable energy and energy efficiency.”
19 June 2009: The Asian Development Bank's (ADB) High-Level Dialogue on Climate Change in Asia and the Pacific, which took place on 16-17 June 2009, in Manila, the Philippines, highlighted the special stake and role of Asian and Pacific countries in solving the climate crisis.
18 June 2009: The World Bank approved a US$180 million loan to the Government of India, to renovate and modernize old, inefficient and polluting coal-fired power plants. The project, which is expected to lower carbon emissions and boost power production at these plants, is co-financed with a US$45.4 million grant from the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

18 June 2009: The UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is organizing an expert meeting on “The Carbon Footprint in Agro food Goods and Services: A Contribution to Combating Global Warming” in Santiago, Chile, from 18-19 June 2009.
15 June 2009: Angel Gurría, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Secretary-General, addressed the International Economic Forum of the Americas (Conference of Montreal) on 9 June 2009, presenting on “Energy and Sustainable Development in the Context of the Economic Crisis.”
