UN's UNite to Combat Climate Change Campaign Organizes Kilimanjaro Climb [viewed]

25 February 2009: In cooperation with the UN's UNite to Combat Climate Change campaign and as a part of the Kilimanjaro Initiative's fourth annual ascent to the “rooftop of Africa,” ten underprivileged youth from urban areas in Kenya, Tanzania and Ghana will summit Mount Kilimanjaro, beginning 28 February 2009. UNEP's Climate Neutral Network Gains 100th Participant [viewed]

 One Year Old and One Hundred Strong - Copenhagen becomes the 100th participant of the UNEP Climate Neutral Network

19 February 2009: The City of Copenhagen, which will host the UN Climate Change Conference later this year, became the 100th participant in the Climate Neutral Network (CN Net). CN Net is an initiative of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) that promotes low-carbon economies and involves cities, companies, non-governmental organizations, countries and UN agencies. Other additions to CN Net include Microsoft, Daejeon, South Korea, the Norwegian County of Aust-Agder, Deutsche Bank and News Limited.
