20 December 2012: The European Commission (EC) and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) have each announced a €5 million contribution to the UN Development Programme's (UNDP) Low Emission Capacity Building (LECB) Programme.
20 December 2012: The European Environment Agency (EEA) has published a report on the impacts of invasive alien species (IAS) in Europe, aiming to raise awareness and inform all stakeholders, including the general public about the environmental and socioeconomic impacts of IAS.
3 December 2012: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) co-organized a regional workshop for the Latin American banking sector, particularly development banks, to promote dialogue on financial instruments that promote climate change mitigation through energy efficiency, renewable energy and agricultural projects in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

18 December 2012: With support from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF), the Connect4climate (C4C) campaign coalition with a strong focus on Africa youth and the use of social media has been launched in Times Square, NY, through a 25-second climate music video resulting from a collaboration between Eminem and the Kenyan hip hop group TS1.
13 December 2012: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Regional Office for North America (RONA) organized the North American Major Groups and Stakeholders (MGS) Consultation, in preparation for the 14th UNEP Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum (GMGSF) and the 27th Session of the UNEP Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC/GMEF).
12 December 2012: The UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) has released the December edition of its newsletter, spotlighting the launch event in London, UK, for its publication "Tomorrow's Capital Markets," which addresses new incentives structures for sustainable development, and a roundtable on sustainable finance held in Bensberg, Germany.
6 December 2012: The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) of the UK have launched the "NAMA Facility" to support countries to implement Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMAs) to address climate change.
14 December 2012: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) has reported on an initiative carried out in the Asia-Pacific region to help countries make the most of existing domestic climate finance to build climate-resilient roads, bridges, schools and other infrastructure, so as to prevent future losses.
