SPC Training Links Gender Analysis and Climate Change Resilience [viewed]

SPC27 June 2012: The Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) held a training session on gender and climate change  for Fiji officers from government ministries and NGOs, aimed at strengthening participants' understanding of the gender analysis approach, and enabling them to apply gender analysis in the context of climate change. The training convened from 20-22 June 2012, in Suva, Fiji.

UNESCO-IOC Reports on Robotic Sensors, Awareness Raising Boat Race [viewed]

UN-REDD Newsletter Reports on Country Needs Assessment Workshop [viewed]

27 June 2012: The UN-REDD Programme has released the June edition of its newsletter, which reports on a workshop it hosted to present the preliminary findings of a country needs assessment to national REDD+ focal points from more than 20 partner countries, along with representatives from civil society, donor countries, the UNFCCC and the Programme's Independent Advisory Group.

Event: Infrastructure for Climate Change: The Challenge of Constructing Infrastructure Systems for a New Environmental Reality [viewed]

This one-day meeting, sponsored by the Latin American Development Bank (CAF) and organized by CAF and the Colombian Government, will bring together government representatives from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela, representatives from various regional and international organizations, as well as experts from Asia, the US, Latin America and Europe to discuss the challenges posed by climate change and extreme weather events to Latin American water, energy, transport, housing and health infrastructure. The meeting also will launch a "Center of thought on Infrastructure for Climate Change" to act as a permanent high-level consultative center composed of national and international experts, devoted to the issue of making Latin American infrastructure climate-resilient.

Event: Fifth Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction [viewed]
