Event: IDB Regional Workshop on Climate Change and Public Finance [viewed]

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) through the Climate Change and Sustainability Division and the Knowledge and Learning Department is organizing a dialogue on the impact of climate change on public finance in Latin America. The event, which will take place in Spanish, aims to share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices about the design and implementation of different instruments and mechanisms to confront the fiscal impact of climate change. Participants in this workshop include Ministers of Finance, Directors of Public Credit and officials in charge of budget planning, public investment, and climate change topics, as well as international experts.

UN Observes “Earth Hour” [viewed]

31 March 2012: The UN observed “Earth Hour” on 31 March by turning off the lights at its New York Headquarters and other facilities around the world, for one hour. Earth Hour was launched in 2007 by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and calls for people, organizations and cities to turn off non-essential lights for an hour.
