Organized under the framework of the International Year of Biodiversity and by the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), IUCN and others, this conference aims to review the status and way forward for the conservation, management and financing of biodiversity in transboundary tropical forests. Its results and recommendations will be submitted to the tenth session of the CBD's Conference of the Parties (COP 10), to be held in Nagoya, Japan, in October 2010.
