GEF Holds Second Meeting of the GEF-6 Replenishment [viewed]

FCPF and Costa Rica Sign Landmark REDD+ Agreement [viewed]

Indonesia Establishes REDD+ Managing Agency [viewed]

Indonesia Flag10 September 2013: The Government of Indonesia announced the establishment of a national REDD+ agency as part of its climate change partnership with the Government of Norway. The REDD+ Managing Agency will report directly to the President and will manage the reduction of emissions from both forests and peatlands.

Event: Eighth Meeting of the Open Working Group on SDGs (OWG 8) [viewed]

The eighth session of the UN General Assembly's (UNGA) Open Working Group (OWG) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will take place from 3-7 February 2014, in New York, US. OWG 8 is expected to discuss: Oceans and seas, forests, biodiversity (2 days); Promoting equality, including social equity, gender equality and women's empowerment (1.5 days); and Conflict prevention, post-conflict peacebuilding and the promotion of durable peace, rule of law and governance (1.5 days).
