Event: 105th Session of the IFAD Executive Board [viewed]

The IFAD Executive Board is the Fund's second main Governing Body, consisting of 18 elected Members and 18 Alternate Members. The Executive Board has full authority to decide on the programme of work, approval of projects, programmes and grants and to adopt/recommend action, pending the final approval of the Governing Council, on matters related to policy, the annual administrative budget, applications for membership and staffing within the Fund.

Event: 35th Session of IFAD's Governing Council [viewed]

The International Fund for Agricultural Development will hold its two-day Governing Council meeting as a forum for member States, partners and the public to discuss and debate what needs to be done to enable smallholder farmers to contribute to raising food availability by 70% by 2050. High level speakers will include Bill Gates, and Lindiwe Majele Sibanda, the CEO of the Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network, who will present on "What promise will Rio herald for agriculture." The IFAD concept note for the meeting also highlights climate change challenges to sustainable agriculture and intervention options. Event: International Water Summit 2013 [viewed]

The inaugural International Water Summit will be hosted by Masdar and held alongside the 2013 World Future Energy Summit (WFES) and the Abu Dhabi International Renewable Energy Conference (ADIREC). The aim of the International Water Summit is to provide an opportunity for participants to network with global politicians, experts from the international water community and leaders from the public and private sectors, and collaborate in the development of solutions for some of the world's most water-scarce regions. The Summit is part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW).

Adaptation Fund Board Publishes Report of 16th Meeting [viewed]

Adaptation Fund3 February 2012: The Adaptation Fund Board (AFB) has released the approved report of its 16th meeting, which was held from 13-14 December 2011, alongside the seventh meeting of the Project and Programme Review Committee (PPRC), the Ethics and Finance Committee (EFC) and a civil society dialogue. At the meeting, the AFB approved project proposals in Uruguay, Cook Islands, Georgia, Madagascar, Samoa and Tanzania.
