10 November 2010: The European Commission has launched a public consultation, open to EU and partner countries, on the future of EU development policy, which aims to "collect views" on advancing progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and beyond, in the face of economic, food and environmental crises.
Organized by the UN annually since 2008, the Global South-South Development Expo provides a forum to enable developing countries and their development partners, including donor agencies, organizations of the UN system, and private-sector and civil society organizations, to showcase their evidence-based South-South development solutions. Solution forums include social protection and decent work, food security, climate change and environment, HIV/AIDS, global health, and education. This third GSSD Expo will focus on enhancing the strategic capacity of developing countries in research and technology development, and will develop inter-regional partnerships in each of its core topic areas.

This high-level round table meeting, titled "Leading the Field," is hosted by the Government of Italy with the support of the Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGR). It will address the role of the ITPGR in addressing food security in a time of climate change.
This webinar will address latest developments on the linkages between biodiversity and reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD) in the framework of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
