28 June 2010: The High-level Segment of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) opened at UN Headquarters in New York, US, on 28 June 2010.
24 June 2010: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) hosted Climate Change Days from 21-24 June 2010, at its headquarters in Rome, Italy.
27 June 2010: The first Summit of the G-20 in its capacity as the premier forum for international economic cooperation convened in Toronto, Canada, on 26-27 June 2010. The Summit concluded with the adoption of a final Declaration that, among other issues, addresses development and environmental issues, including climate change and energy.
25 June 2010: The 13th Session of the African Ministers' Conference on Environment (AMCEN) took place in Bamako, Mali, from 20-25 June 2010, under the theme “Enhancing the interrelationship between climate change, biodiversity and desertification for sustainable development.” The meeting concluded with the adoption of the Bamako Declaration, which was developed to serve as the continent's new road map for sustainable development and basis for strengthening the common negotiating position on climate change and biological diversity.
24 June 2010: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Scholarship Programme, which was established with the funds received from the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, has issued its first call for proposals.
24 June 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat organized a technical workshop on costs and benefits of adaptation options from 22-24 June 2010, in Madrid, Spain.
22 June 2010: An international seminar titled “The contribution of agroecological approaches to meet 2050 global food needs” convened in Brussels, Belgium, on 21-22 June 2010, under the mandate of the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food.
23 June 2010: The European Commission has adopted a €20 million humanitarian financial package to support 12 million people affected by drought in Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia and Uganda in developing resilience to drought and adapting to climate change.
21 June 2010: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Bangladesh are supporting the island of St. Martin's to develop strategies that offset or avoid biodiversity loss while promoting poverty reduction.
