Event: Bonn 2011 Conference: The Water Energy and Food Security Nexus – Solutions for the Green Economy [viewed]

The theme for this conference is "The Water, Energy and Food Security Nexus: Solutions for the Green Economy." This high-level, invitation-only conference is organized by the German Federal Government in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF), the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). It will seek to contribute to the run-up to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20), scheduled for June 2012. COFI 29 Considers Impacts of Climate Change on Fisheries and Aquaculture [viewed]

4 February 2011: The 29th session of the Committee on Fisheries (COFI) of the UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), took place at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy, from 31 January- 4 February 2011, bringing together over 640 participants who considered, among other agenda items, fisheries and aquaculture in our changing climate.

CCAFS Releases Draft Report on Initial Site Selection for Research [viewed]

4 February 2011: The Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) Research Programme on Climate Change Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) has released a draft report titled "Initial Sites in the CCAFS Regions: East Africa, West Africa and Indo-Gangetic Plains," which selects field sites in areas that are becoming drier and wetter for continued research on climate threats to agriculture and food security.

FAO Releases State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture 2010 [viewed]
