11 May 2010: The Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC) Representatives Meeting took place on 11 May 2010, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to take stock of developments so far and chart out strategies in the run up to the 16th session of the Conference of Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 16), in Cancun, Mexico, at the end of 2010.

The UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Public Symposium will hold special breakout sessions on improving food security in the face of climate change and how to bridge climate justice with the global economic reform agendas.
7 May 2010: The Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels (RSB) has released its complete set of biofuels sustainability standards. The numerous standards compiled in this database range from a technical draft for EU market access to standards approved for pilot testing on: chains of custody; certification and accreditation bodies; and application of rules to specific conditions.
7 May 2010: The UN Secretary-General recently met with Bolivian President Evo Morales Ayma and representatives from civil society organizations that participated in the People's World Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth, which convened in Cochabamba, Bolivia, from 19-22 April 2010.
The Global Forum on Salinization and Climate Change will be co-hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and the University of Valencia. The Forum will constitute an opportunity to discuss, from a multi-disciplinary perspective, the problems associated with salinization and climate change.
The meeting is co-sponsored by numerous organizations including the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
4 May 2010: The African Development Bank (AfDB) launched a project to support climate institutions in Africa from 2010-2012, for an estimated total of US$37 million.
4 May 2010: The European Commission (EC) has launched a Soil Atlas of the Northern Circumpolar Region, the first compilation of all available information on the soils above the latitude of 50° N as a carbon pool.
April 2010: The Global Donor Platform for Rural Development released an issues paper on agriculture and climate change that examines what happened on agriculture at the Copenhagen climate talks and future directions for agriculture and climate change both within and outside of the UNFCCC negotiations.
