UNFCCC Releases Technical Paper on Kyoto Protocol Methodological Issues [viewed]

27 August 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a technical paper outlining the implications of the implementation of decisions 2/CMP.7 (land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF)), 3/CMP.7 (emissions trading and the project-based mechanisms), 4/CMP.7 (various methodological issues), and 5/CMP.7 (potential consequences), on the previous decisions on methodological issues related to the Kyoto Protocol (FCCC/TP/2012/6).

UNECA Expert Group Meeting Urges Mainstreaming Climate Change into Development Policies [viewed]

27 August 2012: A recently-held UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) expert group meeting on “Climate Change and the Rural Economy in Southern Africa,” met to address, inter alia, strengthening capacity for developing adaptation and mitigation strategies. FAO Assesses Crop Yield Response to Water [viewed]

FAO22 August 2012: The UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) has published a paper, titled “Crop Yield Response to Water,” which compiles tools for assessing crops' yield response to water, with the aim of increasing water efficiency. These tools are designed to: determine the effects of water shortages on crops production; investigate impacts of climate change on crop yield; compare various water allocation plans; optimize irrigation schedules; and create strategies to increase water productivity and savings.
