25 April 2013: The Seventh Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) Forum in Asia and the Global Consultation on Sustainable Transport in the Post-2015 Development Agenda took place under the theme “Next Generation Transport Systems We Want for the 21st Century ~ Looking Beyond Rio+20." On the final day of the integrated meeting, delegates adopted the "Bali Declaration on Vision Three Zeros for Next Generation Transport Systems: Zero Congestion, Zero Pollution, and Zero Accidents."
The UNFCCC workshop on the review of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) modalities and procedures is scheduled to take place on 8-9 June in Bonn, Germany. The workshop aims to facilitate parties' review of the CDM modalities and procedures at the forthcoming session of the Subsidiary Bodies and was organized upon a request by the 8th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP 8) held in Doha, Qatar.
The Eighth International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Symposium on Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs), the Environment and Climate Change will convene from 6-7 May 2013 in Turin, Italy. The symposium's theme is “Smart Sustainable Cities” and will bring together experts to discuss the latest initiatives in the development of smart cities, with a view to determining the best path forward in leveraging ICTs to enhance cities' environmental sustainability. Agenda items include: energy efficiency, clean power and the smart grid as engines for sustainable urban growth; integrated ICT solutions for smart sustainable cities and empowered citizens; ICTs and climate monitoring; and climate change adaptation and emergency telecommunications in urban areas. The symposium is organized by ITU in partnership with the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, will be hosted by Telecom Italia at its innovation center. This symposium will be held in conjunction with the first meeting of the new Focus Group on Smart Sustainable Cities, on 8 May, and a Workshop on Human Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields, on 9 May.
24 April 2013: The International Energy Agency (IEA) and the UK Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA) have produced a report detailing the relevance, status, costs and policies for carbon capture and storage (CCS) in industrial applications.
23 April 2013: The Asia-Pacific Regional Centre (APRC) of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) has released a report on “Energy and Poverty in the Context of Climate Change” as part of a series of Asia-Pacific Human Development Report technical background papers, and recommends massive investments in energy to secure universal access to electricity and modern fuels.

22 April 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released an information note on the recommendations of the Executive Board (EB) of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) on possible changes to the modalities and procedures of the CDM (FCCC/SBI/2013/INF.1).
22 April 2013: The Regional Workshop on "Integrating Local and Indigenous Knowledge related to Hydro-meteorological Hazards and Climate Change Adaptation with Scientific Knowledge: Lessons learned" concluded the second phase of the “Strengthening Resilience of Coastal and Small Island Communities towards Hydro-meteorological Hazards and Climate Change Impacts (StResCom)” project, a three-year project funded by the Japan Funds-in-Trust (UNESCO-JFIT).
11 April 2013: The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has released four new reports on strategies for green growth, focusing on the "greening" of global value chains. These papers are a product of the OECD's Green Growth Strategy, which offers policy framework recommendations for countries pursuing economic development and protection of ecosystem services.
