The UNFCCC workshop on the review of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) modalities and procedures is scheduled to take place on 8-9 June in Bonn, Germany. The workshop aims to facilitate parties' review of the CDM modalities and procedures at the forthcoming session of the Subsidiary Bodies and was organized upon a request by the 8th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP 8) held in Doha, Qatar.

The Eighth International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Symposium on Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs), the Environment and Climate Change will convene from 6-7 May 2013 in Turin, Italy. The symposium's theme is “Smart Sustainable Cities” and will bring together experts to discuss the latest initiatives in the development of smart cities, with a view to determining the best path forward in leveraging ICTs to enhance cities' environmental sustainability. Agenda items include: energy efficiency, clean power and the smart grid as engines for sustainable urban growth; integrated ICT solutions for smart sustainable cities and empowered citizens; ICTs and climate monitoring; and climate change adaptation and emergency telecommunications in urban areas. The symposium is organized by ITU in partnership with the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, will be hosted by Telecom Italia at its innovation center. This symposium will be held in conjunction with the first meeting of the new Focus Group on Smart Sustainable Cities, on 8 May, and a Workshop on Human Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields, on 9 May.
