Event: High-Level Dialogue on Fostering Investment in Electricity Generation in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia [viewed]

Hosted by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Secretariat, the e8 organization and the World Energy Council, this meeting will discuss key issues and initial direction for the project ‘Fostering investment in advanced fossil fuel technologies for climate change mitigation and sustainable development in countries with economies in transition.' Panel discussions will include key issues such as market, technological and cost developments, selected investment trends, evolving regulation and possible future trends.

Event: Second Science with Africa Conference: Science, Innovation and Entrepreneurship [viewed]

This Conference is organized by the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the African Union Commission (AUC), and aims to explore policies, measures and mechanisms for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in areas such as agriculture, ICTs, health, infrastructure, intellectual property and technology transfer, green science and climate change. A number of initiatives will be launched during the Conference, including the African Technology Development and Transfer Network, African Science to Business Challenge, the African Science Technology and Innovation Fund and African Science Technology and Innovation Framework. In addition, the Conference features a number of fora and workshops, such as the Innovation Investment Forum, Women and Innovation Roundtable, Science Innovation and Communication Workshop, Patent Fair and the Water Quality Report.

UNFCCC Publishes Grenada Submissions [viewed]

2 June 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a submission (FCCC/CP/2010/3) from Grenada, on behalf of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), consisting of a proposed protocol to the Convention for adoption at the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 16), to take place in Cancun, Mexico, at the end of 2010.

Report on Measuring Energy Access for Sustainable Development Released [viewed]
