November 2009: A two-day UN inter-agency workshop was held from 29-30 October 2009, in Geneva, Switzerland, to advance the concept of a "One UN Training Service Platform on Climate Change," also referred to as "UN CC:Learn." The workshop was held at the headquarters of the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and was attended by representatives from 17 UN organizations.

18 November 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report (FCCC/SBI/2009/10) on the implementation of the framework for capacity-building in developing countries.
10 November 2009: The International Energy Agency (IEA) has released its annual flagship publication, the World Energy Outlook 2009 (WEO-2009), months ahead of schedule this year to make it available to policy makers and negotiators in the run up to the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP-15) to the UNFCCC, scheduled to be held in December in Copenhagen, Denmark.
17 November 2009: The Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (Committee of Ten), mandated by the African Union (AU) to speak on behalf of Africa during the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP-15) to the UNFCCC, met in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 17 November 2009.
16 November 2009: Opening the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels, which is taking place from 16-18 November 2009, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, ICAO Secretary General Raymond Benjamin stressed that efficiency improvements can no longer be relied upon to meet the airline industry's growing requirements to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
15 November 2009: Leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) convened for their 17th meeting, titled “Sustaining Growth, Connecting the Region,” in Singapore on 14-15 November 2009, and discussed climate change, among other issues.
November 2009: The International Labour Organization (ILO), in cooperation with the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop), is conducting policy-applied research into skills needs for greener economies.
16 November 2009: Speaking at the opening of the World Summit on Food Security, which is taking place from 16-18 November 2009, at UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) headquarters in Rome, Italy, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stressed that “food security and climate change are deeply interconnected.”
13 November 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released an addendum to the provisional annotated agenda (FCCC/CP/2009/1/Add.1) for the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 15) to the UNFCCC, which will take place from 7-18 December 2009, in Copenhagen, Denmark.
