CTCN, REEEP Launch Climate Tagger Tool [viewed]

ctcn-reep1 December 2014: The Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) launched Climate Tagger, a knowledge management tool that aims to connect data from currently disconnected sources of climate change information. The tool can automatically scan, label, sort and catalogue data and document collections, according to its creators.

AfDB, World Bank Partner to Improve Hydromet Services in Africa [viewed]

AfDB27 November 2014: The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the World Bank held a seminar on improving Africa's hydrological and meteorological systems in order to capture weather and climate data and disseminate information to assist in development planning. Discussions emphasized the critical role of hydrometeorological services in providing information to support economic development and build resilience in many sectors in Africa, including disaster risk reduction and management, water, agriculture, transport, energy, public health and aviation safety and security.

UNFCCC Publishes Addendum to GEF Report to COP 20 [viewed]

UNFCCC25 November 2014: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released an addendum to the report of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to the 20th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 20) to the UNFCCC, containing information on consultations between the GEF and the Climate Technology Center and Network (CTCN). The report discusses a workshop that was co-organized by the GEF Secretariat and the CTCN, during which participants considered, inter alia, joint efforts and cooperation to accelerate climate-related technology transfer.

CCAFS, CTA, CARE Brief Discusses Food Security in a Changing Climate [viewed]

IPCC Publishes Full Report on Climate Change Mitigation [viewed]

IPCC28 November 2014: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has published the full version of Working Group III's (WG III) contribution to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (AR5), titled ‘Climate Change 2014: Mitigation of Climate Change,' in advance of the UN Climate Change Conference in Lima, Peru. The report explores solutions involved in climate change mitigation based on a comprehensive assessment of the relevant scientific, technical and socioeconomic literature and describes the costs, benefits, risks and trade-offs of alternative policy options.

US$413 Million Pledged at Cookstoves Future Summit [viewed]

APEC Energy Working Group Advances Goal to Double Renewable Energy by 2030 [viewed]
