IFAD and UNCCD's Global Mechanism: Report on Mitigating the Impact of Climate Change and Land Degradation in Viet Nam [viewed]

May 2008: The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Global Mechanism of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) have jointly commissioned a report entitled “Mitigating the Impact of Climate Change and Land Degradation through IFAD's Country Strategic Opportunities Paper (COSOP) in Viet Nam.” The report examines the impact of climate change and land degradation on Viet Nam's agricultural and related sectors, to guide project design of COSOP priorities and to identify supplementary financing for IFAD projects from the UNFCCC and other carbon-related financing mechanisms.

World Bank Members Reach Agreement on Climate Investment Funds [viewed]

FAO: Background Paper on Financial Mechanism for the Food and Agriculture Sectors [viewed]

28 May 2008: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), jointly with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), have prepared a background paper on financial mechanisms for adaptation to, and mitigation of, climate change in the food and agriculture sectors. The paper was prepared for the High-Level Conference on World Food Security, which will take place in Rome, Italy, from 3-5 June 2008.
