UNDP Supports Latin America's First Water-Powered Bus [viewed]

© UNDP6 July 2009: The UN Development Programme (UNDP), through the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Brazilian Mines and Energy Ministry and the city of São Paulo's Urban Transportation Company, has introduced the first hydrogen-powered bus in São Paulo, one of the world's largest cities. The bus is fueled by water and exudes clean vapor instead of fumes.

UNCCD Publishes “UNCCD News” [viewed]

6 July 2009: The Secretariat of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) has published the first issue of a new bi-monthly “UNCCD News” newsletter. UNFCCC Secretariat Publishes GHG Synthesis and Assessment Report [viewed]

© UNFCCC3 July 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a note (FCCC/WEB/SAI/2009 3) on the synthesis and assessment report on the greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories submitted in 2009. The purposes of the synthesis and assessment are to facilitate the consideration of inventory data and other information across parties, and to identify issues for further consideration during the reviews of individual inventories.

2 July 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a note by the Chair (FCCC/KP/AWG/2009/10) on documentation to facilitate negotiations among parties during the ninth session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP 9), which will take place from 28 September - 9 October 2009, in Bangkok, Thailand, and for the resumed ninth session to be held in Barcelona, Spain, from 2-6 November 2009.
