FCPF, UN-REDD Publish Jointly Commissioned Papers on REDD+ [viewed]

1 July 2011: The UN-REDD Programme and the World Bank's Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) have published three jointly-commissioned papers on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, as well as conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of carbon stocks (REDD+). The peer-reviewed papers address participation, benefit-sharing and safeguards initiatives for REDD+.

Petersberg Climate Dialogue Sets Out Framework for Durban [viewed]

4 July 2011: Ministers and high-ranking representatives from 35 countries met at the Petersberg Climate Dialogue II, under the theme "Rising to the Climate Challenge." The event was convened at the invitation of German Environment Minister Norbert Röttgen and South African Minister of International Relations Maite Nkoana-Mashabane to discuss possible ways forward in the UN climate change negotiations.

JI Supervisory Committee Launches Calls for Public Inputs [viewed]

UNFCCC27 June 2011: The Joint Implementation (JI) Supervisory Committee (JISC) has launched two calls for public inputs on: the draft recommendations to the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP); and guidance on criteria for baseline setting and monitoring.
