IFAD's 33rd Governing Council Addresses Climate Change, Food Security and Smallholder Agriculture [viewed]
18 February 2010: The Governing Council of the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) held its 33rd session from 17-18 February 2010, in Rome, Italy, to discuss: the Eighth Replenishment of IFAD's resources; IFAD's budget; revisions of IFAD's lending policies and criteria; progress on the performance-based allocation system; progress on the Global Mechanism of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD); and a synthesis of the global meeting of the Farmers' Forum 2010.
February 2010: The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Secretariat has circulated its Monthly Bulletin of Activities for January 2010, including a report on a workshop on innovative financial mechanisms, which addressed, among other items, climate change funding and biodiversity. 
17 February 2010: The UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) has published a report titled "Millennium Development Goals: Advances in Environmentally Sustainable Development in Latin America and the Caribbean."
10 February 2010: The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Senegalese Agency for the Great Green Wall Initiative recently co-organized a regional workshop on “Guidelines on Practices for Sustainable Forest Management in Drylands of Sub-Saharan Africa.”
4 February 2010: The World Bank is undertaking a consultative process towards the adoption of its new corporate Environment Strategy. According to the Bank, the new Strategy will take into account a set of principles, realities and challenges faced in the implementation of environmental activities such as climate change and urbanization. As part of the consultation process, a workshop for Central Asia was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, at the World Bank office, on 4 February 2010. 
5 February 2010: The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) have announced that funds are available to sponsor the participation of developing country NGOs in the CIF Second Partnership Forum, which is scheduled to take place from 18-19 March 2010, in Manila, the Philippines, and which will be hosted by the Asian Development Bank. 
12 February 2010: During a press conference held on 12 February 2010, at UN Headquarters in New York, US, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon launched aHigh-Level Advisory Group on Climate Change Financing. The Group will seek to mobilize the financial resources for climate change that were pledged at the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.
