4 February 2010: The World Bank is undertaking a consultative process towards the adoption of its new corporate Environment Strategy. According to the Bank, the new Strategy will take into account a set of principles, realities and challenges faced in the implementation of environmental activities such as climate change and urbanization. As part of the consultation process, a workshop for Central Asia was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, at the World Bank office, on 4 February 2010.

The UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)/UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Timber section, in cooperation with the World Trade Organization (WTO), will organize a workshop to discuss tariff and non-tariff trade barriers and emerging trade regulations on timber. Participants will discuss the economic impacts of trade and trade-related measures on timber markets, taking into account the link between trade liberalization and the key challenges facing the forest-based sector, including climate change.

12 February 2010: During a press conference held on 12 February 2010, at UN Headquarters in New York, US, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon launched aHigh-Level Advisory Group on Climate Change Financing. The Group will seek to mobilize the financial resources for climate change that were pledged at the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.
