UNECE and FAO Assess Wood Energy Consumption Increase [viewed]

© UNECE25 September 2009: Growing wood energy consumption linked to efforts to mitigate climate change is increasing the likelihood of severe competition for wood on traditional forest products markets. There is therefore a need to establish realistic targets for renewable energy sources, balancing traditional wood processing industry needs with growing energy needs, taking into account the sustainable availability of woody biomass in all its various forms, in the short, medium and long term.
