Event: First World Congress on Cities and Adaptation to Climate Change [viewed]
This meeting, hosted by ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability with numerous UN partners, will provide a global forum on urban resiliency and adaptation immediately preceding the UN climate talks in Bonn. Partners will share knowledge on: urban risk assessment; socio-economic and institutional dimensions; strategy, policy integration and mainstreaming; urban adaptation planning and practice; costs and financing of urban adaptation; and technologies for adaptation.
9 December 2009: The UN University (UNU) is organizing a film festival on "Indigenous Voices on Climate Change," from 9-13 December 2009, in Copenhagen, Denmark, as part of its contribution to the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 15).
December 2009: The UN University (UNU) has published an advance reading copy of its book titled "Advance Guard: Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation, Mitigation and Indigenous Peoples - A Compendium of Case Studies."
November 2009: The UN University (UNU) Institute for Environment and Human Security has released a brief titled "The Way Forward: Researching the Environment and Migration Nexus," whichfocuses on the links and implications of climate change and environmental degradation for migration and policy.
20 November 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has received eight further submissions (FCCC/AWGLCA/2009/MISC.6/Add.1) from parties on ideas and proposals on the elements contained in paragraph 1 of the Bali Action Plan.
18 November 2009: The sixth plenary session of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO-VI) convened in Washington, DC, US, from 17-18 November 2009, to assess and promote the partnership's progress towards making information about global environmental change readily available to those who need it.
3 November 2009: On the margins of the UNFCCC talks taking place in Barcelona, Spain, UN-Water presented a key message on Water and Climate Change Adaptation prepared for the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP15). 
September 2009: The United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) Traditional Knowledge Initiative has recently re-launched the REDD Site, part of a pilot project on promoting the effective participation of indigenous peoples in processes for Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD).
