The UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is organizing this workshop as part of its 2011 Negotiation Training Series. The Multilateral Diplomacy Programme of the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), in cooperation with Germanwatch, has developed this e-learning course on “Negotiating Climate Change Finance," which will be conducted from 24 October-18 November 2011. The aim of the course is to provide the skills and knowledge needed for participation in multilateral negotiations, particularly under the UNFCCC. It will enhance participants' understanding of the key objectives and instruments of international climate finance, the multilateral policy framework and key negotiation issues crucial to reaching a post-2012 agreement, particularly with respect to the forthcoming 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 17).

9 September 2011: The UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)'s Asia-Pacific centre for training local authorities, CIFAL Jeju, convened a workshop on knowledge and skill sharing for more resilient and integrated disaster risk management among the region's municipalities. The workshop aimed, among other things, to build capacities for disaster risk management among participants from the region.
