Event: First Asia Solar Energy Forum [viewed]

The First Asia Solar Energy Forum, organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in association with the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), is expected to bring together key policy makers and solar energy related professionals from nearly 30 of ADB's Member Countries with major solar energy and smart grid manufacturers, developers, suppliers, industry associations and knowledge institutes to support the development and deployment of solar energy technologies in Asia and the Pacific. 28 April 2010: The report of the Secretary-General's Adivsory Group on Energy and Climate Change was launched on 28 April 2010. According to the report, would be possible to provide universal access to modern energy services by 2030 without significantly increasing greenhouse gas emissions, by scaling up renewable energy and other low-emission technologies.

Event: UN System Chief Executives Board for Coordination [viewed]

This meeting will convene at the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) headquarters in Vienna, Austria, to discuss issues relating to climate change, the September Summit on progress in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), global governance and the global economic and financial crisis. The CEB meets twice a year and brings together the Heads of 27 UN system organizations (15 specialized agencies, 10 UN Funds and Programmes, the IAEA and the WTO) under the chairmanship of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
