15 May 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has posted the submission by the World Health Organization (WHO) on ideas and proposals on the elements of paragraph 1 of the Bali Action Plan that will be examined by the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-Term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA) at its sixth session in Bonn, Germany, from 1-12 June 2009.
26 February 2009: During a visit to Maldives, from 18-25 February 2009, Raquel Rolnik, the UN Human Rights Council's Special Rapporteur on adequate housing, underlined the importance of the international community's role in supporting climate change adaptation strategies.
8 January 2009: In an address to the UN Security Council, António Guterres, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), warned of new forms of displacement, with natural disasters on the rise due to climate change.
