UN Programmes and Partners Launch Online Platform for Adaptation and Mitigation Innovation and Technology [viewed]

12 May 2011: The UN Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme Risoe Centre (UNEP Risoe), the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP), the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation, the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) and the Joint Implementation Network (JIN, the Netherlands), have created ClimateTechWiki, an online platform to support adaptation and mitigation innovation and technology.

13 May 2011: Over 7,000 participants, including Heads of State and government, international organizations' representatives and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), gathered in Istanbul, Turkey, to attend the Fourth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC IV) from 9-13 May 2011. The Conference aimed to assess the results of the 10-year Brussels Action Plan for the LDCs, which was adopted in 2001, and to agree on new measures and strategies for the sustainable development of LDCs into the next decade.
