Mongolia Joins Partnership for Action on the Green Economy [viewed]

UNEP Risø Centre Outlines Elements of a New Climate Agreement by 2015 [viewed]

UNEP RISO Centre3 June 2013: The UNEP Risø Centre, in collaboration with UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), has released 'Perspectives 2013,' a publication that features articles on the "Elements of a New Climate Agreement by 2015." The publication considers key issues to address with a view to reach a climate change agreement by 2015 to come into effect by 2020, as agreed at the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the UNFCCC.

Event: First Africa Food Security Conference [viewed]

This conference will be held around the theme 'Harnessing Ecosystem Based Approaches for Food Security and Adaptation to Climate Change in Africa'. It is convened by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and other UN agencies, governments, research institution, NGOs, scholars, donors, and local governments. The event will consist of a combination of plenary and panel group discussions, which will provide a platform for participants to interact and learn about the latest ideas and practices in harnessing ecosystems services for food security and climate change adaptation.

The final COP 18 Gender Decision, titled “Promoting gender balance and improving the participation of women in UNFCCC negotiations and in the representation of Parties in bodies established pursuant to the Convention or the Kyoto Protocol,” reaffirms a COP decision taken over a decade ago. UNEP Launches Global Sustainable Consumption and Production Clearinghouse [viewed]

UNEP Report Analyzes Green Economy and Trade Opportunities in Developing Countries [viewed]
