Event: Second CTCN Advisory Board Meeting [viewed]

The Second Advisory Board Meeting of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) is expected to discuss: a report by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) on its activities to support the full operationalization of the CTCN; the programme of work of the CTCN for 2013-2014; and strategic issues, including criteria for prioritizing countries' requests to the CTCN. The meeting will be webcast.

Event: Adaptation Futures 2014: Third International Climate Change Adaptation Conference [viewed]

This meeting is co-hosted and convened by the Earth System Science Center of the National Institute for Space Studies (CCST-INPE) (Brazil), and by the UN Environment Programme's (UNEP's) Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA). The meeting is expected to bring together scientists, decision makers and practitioners from developed and developing countries to share research approaches, methods and results. The Adaptation Futures 2014 conference consists of two back-to-back events: the Third International Climate Change Adaptation Conference 2014 between 12-15 May; and the International Workshop on High Level Drought Policies on Arid and Semiarid Lands on May 15.

CCAC Commits to Scaling Up Action on Short-Lived Climate Pollutants [viewed]

CCAC3 September 2013: Members of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (CCAC) met for the third meeting of the High Level Assembly, adopting a Communiqué reiterating their commitment to address near-term climate change, improve air quality and public health, and strengthen food and energy security, by taking urgent action to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) like black carbon, methane, tropospheric ozone, and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).

UNEP Releases Green Economy Modelling Report of South Africa [viewed]

UNEP23 August 2013: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has launched a report titled 'Green Economy Modelling Report of South Africa - Focus on Natural Resource Management, Agriculture, Transport and Energy Sectors,' developed with technical assistance from the Millennium Institute and the Sustainability Institute, in collaboration with the Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Studies of the Stellenbosch University. The study assesses the impacts of green investments in four of the country's key economic sectors: agriculture, energy, transport and natural resource management.
